About Fertile Acreage Farm

Echo, MN

Our farm has been in our family for three generations. It is a 500 acre farm with half of the land in prairie grass, lakes, and ponds. Our goal as a farm is to continue to expand our pastures for our pigs to root up. Our pigs are raised outside in the sun, in the mud, and on the grass. They have access to deep bedding and barns at night and during the winter. The majority of our pig’s diet is spent brewers grain from a local brewer. This creates a rich marbling as we feed our mixed heritage breed pigs about 4 tons in a week. Beer fed hogs from the MN River Valley.

Shipping Details

Unless specified otherwise during checkout, we process our orders and partners ship them out every Monday. Typically, boxes arrive the same week that they are shipped out. Meathusiasts will get an email detailing their shipping information when their order is out for delivery. Our partner shops package the product with our 100% recyclable packaging. Orders are shipped in recyclable cardboard boxes, insulated with eco-friendly liners made from plant cellulose that easily dissolve in water, and kept fresh with easy to dispose of gel packs that can be punctured and dried out for easy and clean disposal.

Delicious and Lean

Sometimes sausages and bacon are just too greasy. These tasty options are leaner without sacrificing taste. I am always a bit hesitant on anything maple flavored as it can often be too sweet. These sausages are just right.

Beautiful Breakfast Box!

I learned about The Meatery on local TV show, Minnesota Live,. They did a full hour on supporting local farmers. This Breakfast Box included such a delicious combo for a morning meal w/ all my relatives in town for our celebration! Brunch for 25 included (72) wild rice sausages, regular links & maple sausages- which were the favorites. I served them with stuffed French toast & maple syrup. I served the Canadian bacon with eggs which was popular w/ adults while kids quickly gobbled up the bacon - bake! Everything was so tasty! Thanks, Fertile Acreage Farm! I appreciate the quality of your beer fed pork. Our family will definitely order again soon! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Total package!

"Total package" is a phrase people use when they are trying to convey that someone (or something) has everything necessary to be the best. Fertile Acreage Farm has it all: locally produced pork, locally sourced brewer grains, acres of land for the pigs to forage, a family run business, and the nicest couple in Dave and Leah that you'll ever meet! This morning I had the breakfast sausages and was blown away how good they were! Compared to anything I can get at the grocery store, these had amazing flavor and had me wondering if I should open another package to throw on the skillet for tomorrow's breakfast. Thanks for the being one of the best at what you do FAF!
